Something about May in the bluegrass always gets me excited about new beginnings. It might be the blooming flowers or the budding trees or maybe it's the excitement of the school year ending for the younger generation, whatever it is it always makes me want to try something new. At the shop, May is the time the tomatoes and basil start growing out front and the desire for wools turns into a longing for soft cool cottons.

First up is the yarn we have been waiting for all winter- Silk Garden Solo Sock. Made to use alone or as a compliment to one or more gradient versions of the Silk Garden Sock, this yarn would be perfect for a spring or fall sweater or in a geometric wrap. We can't wait to see how you use it!! |
Just in time for the 2015 Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Fest, we've restocked both the basic Louet octagonal drop spindle and the heavier sheepy spindle. We have also added the Louet fine handcarders to take the place of the Fricke cards we can no longer stock. |
Last, but certainly not least, we've decided to stop carrying the Addi Lace needles due to waning popularity and instead we have added every size of the Addi Turbo Rockets in 16, 24, 32, and 40". For those unfamiliar with the Rockets, they have the same fast nickle plating as the traditional Addi Turbos, but with the sharper tips that many of you prefer. |

2015 Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival |
For the last five years, the Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival has been our favorite thing about May. This year the fest will be May 16 & 17 at Masterson Station park. There will be over 50 vendors with everything from yarn and fiber to pottery to soaps and sundries. There are lots of great classes and workshops (sign-ups end on May 12 so hurry,) demos, food, and for the spinners there is a skien contest. ReBelle will have a booth in our usual spot so stop by and say hello, there will likely be some goodies for visitors.
