Psalm 95:1 Oh come, Let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our Salvation!

SHOUTING FOR JOY TO THE LORD!

When are you most likely to shout for joy? This is not that difficult of a question to answer. We shout for joy when we are happiest, when we have received some unexpected gift, some unexpected good news or have done something extra-ordinary.

Those times may be far and few between or seem so to us. After all for the most part our days are days of hum drum routine and the daily routine of getting up, going to school, work or if you are retired getting up to do what? This hardly seems like something to get excited about, much more reason to shout for joy so that your neighbors peek out their doors and windows to see what it is that has caused you such joy.

Looking at our daily routines from a completely different point of view we find every reason to rise in the morning, step outside and let loose a joyous shout in praise of our Lord. We are the created; He is the Creator not the other way around no matter how much we might like to beg to differ. The world does not revolve around us; it revolves because of the mercy and grace of our Lord. What we have of goods and friends and work and life in all aspects of it is not owed us, it is given to us as a gift from our Father in heaven. When we understand this, that even the smallest of things in our life is a gift, our hearts fill up with happiness and our lips open and we give voice to a joyful cry to our Lord, as we go on in life.
