Dear Neighbors,
Tonight, Monday, January 17th at 7 pm at Hoboken High School, the Hoboken Board of Education (BoE) will host its final community meeting addressing the proposed new High School and District-Wide plan for educational facilities.
Also, last Thursday the BoE held an Informational Community Webinar via ZOOM. The webinar included residents’ extensive questions which were addressed by leaders of the School District and BoE Trustees, as well as a narrated version of the Architects’ video plan. If you missed that important community meeting, you can watch it here.
The public can also learn a lot about the BoE’s holistic plan in an informative 10-minute animation video demonstrating the vision for the new High School facility that you can watch here. The Board of Education’s architects originally presented their plan to the Planning Board in December. You can view that Planning Board meeting here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.
Questions asked at previous public meetings hosted by the BoE have been compiled into a helpful FAQ you can review here. (This “living document” is periodically updated with new information in response to new questions.)
You can also review an informational FlipBook about the project here or email your questions or requests for more information to ProposedNewHHS@hoboken.k12.nj.us as we head towards next Tuesday’s referendum on January 25th on whether the community supports a $241 million bond issue to underwrite the cost of these improvements for Hoboken’s School District.
You can find more information on the referendum, poll locations, how and where to vote here.
As always, let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks!
