If any of you were following the sad tale of Jack the Cat,
who escaped his pet taxi in the baggage area at JFK Airport,
American Airlines, some months ago, here is a video that was
made as a tribute to Jack. Sadly, he was in such bad shape
when he was finally found, he did not survive the ordeal.

Here is a story that was published last month on Tony the
Tiger, who was held captive in a small concrete enclosure
for nearly 10 years at a Louisiana truck stop as a visitor
attraction. People have been fighting to get him out of there
for years, and now he will finally be released to a proper
sanctuary.

Another country has joined the list of nations that have banned
the declawing of cats...Israel!
It was approved by their parliament, called the Knesset, on
Nov. 28, and punishment is no slap on the wrist: Offenders
can be imprisoned for up to a year and fined the equivalent
of $20,000.
Here are the other countries that have similar laws in place:
