What: Winners announced of National Charity Impact Awards and Community Hero Award
The Charity Impact Awards celebrate the people and charities who make a positive contribution to our communities.
This is the first and only national award recognising the impact of Irish charities. Ireland’s charity sector employs 189,000 people and it has a combined annual turnover of over €14 billion.

When: Tuesday, 11 December 2018, 6.30pm-9.30pm
Where: The Mansion House, Round Room
Keynote speaker: Senator Lynn Ruane
Awards will be presented in four categories:
- Community Hero Award: This lifetime-achievement award honours a volunteer who has made an extraordinary contribution to a good cause over the course of their lives. The 10 nominees have over 280 years of volunteering experience between them.
- Charity Impact Award: This Award celebrates the work of charities that have brought about positive change. Fifteen organisations are shortlisted, including some of Ireland's best-loved charities like Barretstown, Trocaire, Galway Simon and Spunout.
- Social Enterprise of the Year Award (NEW): Ireland’s first national awards for social enterprises.
- Charity Trustee of the Year: This award aims to shine a light on voluntary trustees who have made an extraordinary contribution to an organisation.
The Charity Impact Awards are presented by The Wheel, Ireland’s national association of community, voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises. With over 1,400 organisations as members, we are the largest representative body in the sector. See www.wheel.ie
