There are now good prerequisites for the foreign companies to enter the Bulgarian and SE European market:
▪ This years’ real estate trends in Bulgaria are related to growing demand in high quality construction of the private and public buildings segment. The number of buyers, who aim to make long-term investments in properties, is increasing.
▪ There are a big number of depreciated elevators in public and multistory buildings, which have to be replaced with new energy efficient and reliable facilities.
▪ The vertical transport installations are an object of two operational programs:
OP „Regions in Growth“ provides 1,3 billion EUR – a part of the funding will be for the energy efficiency increasing in construction. To meet the requirements for elevators replacement, the buildings must be at least Class C with minimum 60% energy saving. Under the scheme ‘Integrated Plan for Urban Regeneration and Development’ within the Program, funding for lifts replacement and improvements of the accessibility to bus stations and the relevant infrastructure will be provided.
One part of the National Programme for Energy Efficiency of Multi-Family Residential Buildings covers the energy efficiency of elevators.
▪ Amendments to the Technical Surveillance Act for elevators are underway in Bulgaria.
