IT’S HERE!!!
I am doing something brand new and I’m so excited to share it with you on this highly esteemed momentous day of 2.22.22! :)

Roughly 18 months ago, as I was working on the music video concept for “Wearing Love” (i can’t believe it’s been that long), an idea dropped into my heart.

What would happen if we put on love in the way we put on all the other things we carry each day - our heaviness, our disappointments, our anger, our pride, our political affiliations...our shoes? What would it look like to action something that feels so intangible and maybe even inconsequential.

“If what you see is all you see
then you do not see all there is to be seen.”

I heard that in a hop hop song last week and immediately scribbled it down (credit: Kirk Franklin). I think that about captures what this ‘new thing’ is.

Our bodies have carried the weight of a broken world these past two years. As we’ve witnessed the fallout in our own lives and the lives around us, it’s become apparent that nothing we could ever say could speak louder than our love. In fact, most of our words just bounce off the walls of our own echo chambers if they’re not harsh enough to cut through.

All my life, I’ve been taught that love is a verb…and it is.
But first and foremost it is a posture of the heart. And every outward movement we make is a byproduct of this unseen internal positioning that pulls the invisible into the realm of the visible. It’s the creative nature of what we do as artists and its how we all live and move as human works of art in the world...whether we like what comes out or not.

I’m launching a clothing brand called Wearing Love

I held onto this idea for many reasons…namely…who needs another Tshirt!  (yes, so many conversations with myself on this one)  but it would not let me go.

There’s nothing grandiose about this endeavor. Its just an honest effort to flower the world with truth and hope...to give people an opportunity to outwardly reflect this inward posture. I think sometimes it will work backwards and the literal "putting on" will be a needed reminder to "put on" a new perspective.

This brand is for both wearers and watchers and the message is simple - LOVE.

Wearing Love launches on 3.14.22

I am telling you today so you don't miss it! And because there's just something very special about all these 2s!!! Thank you all for reading and following along on this on-going journey! I am so very very grateful
With love,
Joy

"So you should always clothe yourselves with mercy,
kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with each other,
and forgive each other. If someone does wrong to you, forgive that person because
God forgave you. Even more than all this, clothe yourself in love.
Love is what holds you all together in perfect unity."
Colossians 3:12-14
