JANE HIRSHFIELD & JENNIFER ARIN Come, Thief and Ways We Hold
Thursday, March 7 at 7 PM
Join us for an inspiring evening with two wonderful, award-winning poets.
Jane Hirshfield will read from her latest collection, now available in
paperback. Hirshfield is a master at capturing a moment's
essence and exchanging part of herself with its finite music, and then
delivering that exchange to the reader. One of her recent poems, "I
Wanted Only a Little," is featured in the February 11th issue of The New Yorker. She was elected Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets in 2012.
In Ways We Hold, Jennifer Arin shows she is a poet who
understands and celebrates the complexity
of staying rooted in a world of flux. She brings an awareness of
time's ineluctable passage and poetry's power to stop it, however
briefly. Arin teaches in the English department at San Francisco State
University, and has received numerous awards, including Poets &
Writers' Writers-on-Site residency and a grant from the National
Endowment for the Humanities.
