Dear

We would be pleased if you could join us for the openings of three of our latest exhibitions at Depot Galleries. On Saturday 26 May, 3-4.30pm: Group Show: Unfinished Business (in the Main Gallery). Also, the week following sees the opening of two exhibitions which form part of the Auckland Festival of Photography: Julia Durkin, Elaine Smith: Occupy and Camille McCawley: 365 Commercial Rd  - Squatter Series. Both photographic shows open on Saturday 2 June, 3-4.30pm.

 Unfinished Business: Group Show
26 May - 7 June 2012

Opening in the Main Gallery on: Saturday 26 May 3-4.30pm

Stephen, Erin, and Ann McWilliams, members of the same family, all products of the Bachelor of Visual Arts, Auckland University of Technology, attempt to address “Unfinished Business” in this collaborative exhibition.
“We will bring together our diverse but complementary art practices, exploring our differences and similarities within a unique, artistic and family relationship”.
They will share their intergenerational differences, possible rivalries, support mechanisms in hopes to find an answer to the question: “does familiarity breed contempt?”

Julia Durkin, Elaine Smith: Occupy
1-15 June, 2012

Opening in Outerspace Gallery on Saturday 2 June, 3-4.30pm

From the excesses of Wall Street and the global financial crisis, a protest movement known as Occupy was born. Protesters around the world demonstrated, camped and chanted “We are the 99%”. This exhibition looks at the well-organized street theatre of our Auckland protests within an international globalisation of protest.

Camille McCawley: 365 Commercial Rd  - Squatter Series
1-24 June
Opening in Sidedoor Gallery on Saturday 2 June, 3-4.30pm

A photographic exhibition that looks at the cold, damp and unstable conditions of a squat in the heart of London. Locked away, the squatters keep to themselves, separated from society yet in the middle of it all.  They live communally as an estranged family where they have their individual roles in their “home”, until they get evicted and have to start again.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Kind regards,
The Depot
