We kick off the 2025-26 BPS programme with the, now traditional, Chairman's Evening which is being presented by our recently enthroned chairman, Jeff Hargreaves EFIAP DPAGB LRPS.
Jeff's talk, Travels to Many Places, will look at some of the many places Jeff has visited in recent years:
Oman
One of the most recent photo trips was to Oman with 3 other club members, where there were many different places and subjects to photograph. However, tonight will concentrate on the empty quarter, desert and camels
|
|
Ukraine
A look back at three days in the Chernobyl exclusion zone, with the history of the major nuclear accident.
Also, a look at Kiev in happier times at its beauty and long tradition.
Turkey
A workshop to Istanbul, a fashion shoot in the museum of archaeology, a food shoot in a large restaurant and night club.
Portugal
The surfers of Nazare north of Lisbon, the beach, surfers taking on the giant waves.
Cuba
Ballet de Cuba, dancers presenting Flamenco.
There will be several AV’s exploring various avenues of his photography, including flowers - all home grown!

Dropping stuff into water and making a splash. Bring:
- tripods, flashguns, containers (tumblers, glasses, etc. Mike will bring a fish tank)

Let's see if anyone can produce images like those shown recently by Janet Miles in her talk.

I'm indebted to our resident cycling correspondent, Matt de Beger, for sending details of the upcoming Tour of Britain cycle race.
There are two stages that come pretty close to home:
Stage 5 starts in Pontypool on 6 September and finishes with one of the most notorious climbs in the region - The Tumble, near Blaenavon.
Stage 6 (Final stage) starts at the National Velodrome in Newport and finishes in Cardiff.
Full details of the Tour can be found on their website:

Salon acceptances: Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
