UK's very own 'acordeonero' Hernando Arias a BBC world routes academy winner 2012 playing cumbia classics accompanied by La tropical Vallenata.

On the decks spinning the best tunes at Arriba la Cumbia! our host Dj Russ Jones aka Hackney GlobeTrotter + Upstairs Richio Suzuki with his Version Excursion + Special Guest legend Earl Gateshead (Trojan Sound system).Earl began DJ'ing in Brixton in 1979Formed in 2004 from London Sound System legends, to represent the label in England and throughout the World. The Sound System has already had hugely successful shows as a single entity and with the greatest names in reggae.

HACKNEY - OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY  
21st July / 2012

The route for the Olympic Torch Relay in Hackney has been announced. The flame, to be carried by 21 inspirational residents, will enter the borough at Shoreditch High Street on 21 July and travel north along the A10 to Clissold Park in Stoke Newington. Along its route it will be welcomed by the One Hackney Festival 2012 and Special guest Dj Russ Jones aka Hackney Globetrotter

The musical adventures have seen Russ djing literally all around the world to hosting his own festival in E. London and festival stages at the likes of Glastonbury and Bestival. There have been mixes on BBC Radio 1, 6Music and more. A number of compilation CDs including the ground breaking Future World Funk series and a couple of releases with the Basement Jaxx He still hosts a monthly parties in the Eastend of London with a whole plethora of amazing tropical bands and DJs.
  
Hackney GT has been birthed out of Russ Jones passion for cycling, a keen eye for fashion and trends , a quirky edge and a love of music from around the world. Wanting to make a cycle jersey for his music production company Hackney Globe Trotter and what was originally only one design has turned into many and now into a new label and collection.
There are many plans afoot for for more designs, events, music projects, bikes and so much more. A reflection of creative and positive life for living. So as they say 'watch this space'.                                          More info...
