NEWS FOR CAT LOVERS
===================================
I hope you were able to download the free stuff in the
last issue, just before Christmas. As promised, I've
already taken down the free gift page. So, if you
missed out for whatever reason, let me know in an
email and tell me which book you want: Moving With
Pets, or 7 Steps to 9 Lives, and I'll send it to you.
But I can only do this until the end of this month.
By then I won't be giving them away anymore.
Somebody's gotta feed the bulldog, as they say.

The most popular pet names of 2008, collected at Petfinder.com:

(The names for 2009 aren't ready for publication yet.)
Here is the list for cats:
1. Lucy (354)
2. Molly (328)
3. Oreo (320)
4. Kittens (318)
5. Smokey (315)
6. Princess (312)
7. Shadow (310)
8. Tigger (310)
9. Angel (309)
10. Missy (301)
---------------------------
The sad news this week is the loss of our kitty, Miss Tiffany.
She was old, and had the dreaded FIV disease, so her passing
was no surprise. However, when the end finally came, it was
no less tragic and heartbreaking. I rescued her in 2003 as an
older cat, from a hoarding situation. She had no doubt brought
many kittens into the world, but she was freed of that after I
got hold of her. If you want to read her story, it's on my cat blog
here: http://loveablecat.blogspot.com

CAT FOOD NEWS
===================================
FDA Seeking Feedback on Petfood Recalls.
Release Date: Monday, January 04, 2010
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is asking
for public comment on its recently released Pet Food
Early Warning Recall Rational Questionnaire.
The FDA has invited the public to comment on these
topics:
1. Whether collecting information is necessary for the
FDA to do its job
2. Whether the FDA is able to be accurate with that
information
3. Ways to improve the quality of the information
collected, and,
4. Ways to make it easier for people to submit such
information.
Submit comments to their website here:
http://www.regulations.gov
Or, send it in writing here:
Division of Dockets Management (HFA-305)
Food and Drug Administration
5630 Fishers Lane, Room 1061
Rockville, MD 20852.
Be sure to include the docket number (FDA-2008-N-0546)
and get it in before or by January 29.
Be aware that this is a government website and as such,
is not the most user-friendly site I've been on. I think they
had chimpanzees design the page.
