* RECIPE – Dreamy Decadent Hot Chocolate *
|
Mmmmmmm, chocolate! This comes as close to liquid pleasure as one can imagine. Liquid is a relatively loose term---this is so thick and rich it borders on edible vs. drinkable!
1/3 cup heavy cream
¾ cup whole milk
2 t powdered sugar
6 oz finely chopped 70% bittersweet chocolate
Combine heavy cream, milk and powdered sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until bubbles appear at the edge of the pan. Remove from heat and add chocolate, stirring constantly until chocolate is completed melted. Slowly pour into serving glasses. We recommended small brandy snifters.
Really want to kick into St. Patrick’s Day mode? Say “Cead Mile Failte” (A Hundred Thousand Welcomes) to your guests by adding a wee bit of Irish Cream (yes, the alcoholic version) to whipped cream and place a dollop of that atop the hot chocolate!
