Hello Firstname

Wednesday 27 May
That's it, we've moved and the first meeting at the new premises next week when our speaker will be David Lowe ARPS DPAGB who will be presenting his talk - Picture Mixture. David's talk will include a wide variety of subjects including travel, sport, events, landscapes and nudes presented in colour and monochrome.
In 2010 David was invited to become a member of the London Salon of Photography. For many years he has been in the fortunate position of having a job that has enabled him to travel extensively around the world. Photography has been a great benefit as many of the trips have been on his own, so having a hobby that he can take with him to fill the “empty” time has been a life saver.
See some of David's images by visiting his website.

Unit 13
We have now moved from the old premises in West Mall and said goodbye to the increasingly cramped space in the clubrooms and more importantly all those nasty parking restrictions and charges. The new premises will have a whole load of new facilities for members, including a new tea and coffee area where members can move about freely in the interval, improved studio facilities and a brand new AV and picture presentation system.
I'd like to thank all those members who gave up their time on Wednesday & Thursday morning to help with packing up and the move, the number that turned up meant that the whole move was over by mid morning on Thursday and ne'er a muscle was torn - thank you.
The BPS Council held their first meeting at the new premises this week and you can see a picture of that historic event below. This is not meant to highlight the rogues gallery of people who help to run the Society, but to give you a tantalising glimpse of what the new place is like.

Regarding the thorny issue of parking: we have spoken to all of the other property owners in the estate and most have said that we can park on the forecourts in front of their property. There are a few exceptions and we would ask members to respect this. The properties in question are:
  • Plumb Centre
  • Unit 9 - ClinkClink (not the one next door to us)
  • Unit 10
  • Unit 15 - Proper Bread Company
If members park sensibly (don't just dump your car in the middle of an empty forecourt) there should be plenty of parking for all.

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
Yet another success for Val Duncan, she recently entered the Great British Small Print Circuit which comprises three separate print competitions run concurrently. As many of you will know, Val is a projected image worker which makes it all the more amazing that she won the FIAP Blue Badge award for the entrant with the highest number of acceptances in all three competitions; this, as far as we know, has never been done before.

If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
