Hello, Firstname

WCPF Interclub Projected Image Competition (DPIC)
Sunday (9 Feb) saw a small band of BPS members travel down the M5 to Exeter to attend the annual WCPF photofest that is DPIC. This competition between photo clubs from across the WCPF region, this year attracted entries from 56 clubs, each submitting 18 images. This meant that the panel of 3 judges had to view and score 1008 images through the day; the club with the highest accumulative score being declared the WCPF DPIC Champions - well, this year the champion is Bristol Photographic Society, so well done to those members who supplied images.

Scores for each image were out of a maximum of 15 and only one of the BPS images scored less than 12, and that was an 11, with one of the judges giving it a maximum 5 and a Highly Commended award - pretty impressive all round. Undoubted star of the team was Graham Pears, who's image, Red Kite on Pheasant Carcass scored a maximum 15 and Hares Boxing scored 14. Barry Mead scored 14 with two of his images, Zebra Dance and Last Look Back

The top 10 clubs, in descending order were:

Bristol 228
Dorchester       224
Frome 224
Nonpareil 222
Bleadon 217
Taunton 216
Dulverton 215
Truro 212
Backwell 211
Exmouth 211
Sidmouth 211

The top two clubs go on to represent WCPF in the annual PAGB Interclub competition at Warwick in July. Dorchester pipped Frome to that honour by having more awards among their set.

Appologies for the quality of the picture, I forgot to adjust the ISO setting on my camera to allow for the lousy lighting. Obviously wouldn't have scored very highly in the day's proceedings!
