THE Scotland
Island Residents Association has called on all six Pittwater
candidates to attend a public forum days before the November 26
by-election.
The association, together with other offshore community groups,
will hold the forum at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club,
Newport on Tuesday, November 22, at 7pm.
Association vice president Paul Purvis said it was an
opportunity for all candidates to speak about their "vision" for
the area.
He said each candidate would be given 10 minutes to address
the forum. There would also be an opportunity for residents to
ask questions.
All candidates Alex McTaggart (Independent), Patricia Giles
(Christian Democratic Party), Natalie Stevens (Greens), Paul
Nicolaou (Liberal), Robert Dunn (Independent) and Mario Nicotra
(Australian Democrats) will be at the meeting.
Mrs Giles said she encouraged community consultation during
the election campaign.
"It's a great opportunity for the candidates to be grilled on
the issues in the area," she said.
