Proverbs 30:2-3 I am the most ignorant of men; I do not have a man's understanding. I have not learned wisdom, nor have I knowledge of the Holy One.
GOD GRANT US WISDOM
Over the past week we have had four unusual "teachers" share with us four very important lessons. We saw the wisdom in preparing for our heavenly futures, in making the Lord our refuge, in appreciating our fellow believers, and in persevering in the faith to the end. But following the ways of God's wisdom does not come naturally to us. Only the LORD can open our eyes to see that these things are wise and move our hands and hearts to do them. "Want we wisdom? He must give it, Hearing ears and seeing eyes."
Although we are weak and helpless, once even dead in our trespasses and sins, our glorious God has had mercy on us and shares with us His wisdom and His love. Although we are the most ignorant of people, yet God has not forsaken us but cleanses us of our sin in Christ and leads us in the way everlasting.
Jesus gives us pure affections,
Wills to do what He requires,
Makes us follow His directions,
And what He commands, inspires.
(The Lutheran Hymnal, 358:5)
