CANCUN Again - but better than ever! December 3 - 6
This year's trip shifts into high gear to add more music and activities in the evening and also give the travelers opportunities to take advantage of the tour activities that are included in the package. As a charity event it is attracting some of Music Row's movers and shakers. The top tier of rooms have already been filled. For Wade this is a great opportunity to be seen by the industry as well as the fans. A good showing of his supporters would be a big boost to their understanding of what a great artist he is. .. Wade's new CD project
This is news we've eagerly waited for!! Wade is in the studio finishing work on a new CD. He's expecting to have it ready before summer. As soon as we can, we'll let you know how to get your very own copy! There will be digital releases as well.

Eight of the tracks are written by Wade. He's followed the custom of including an older, traditional song as he did on his other albums. Wade did most of the guitar work - both acoustic and electric.

.. Tour News
Wade will have Randy Lanham, his long time friend and a fiddle player extraordinaire, with him at the Albama Show (4/18) and the Clarksville show (4/25). The Clarksville show at Kickers will also include band members: Kevin Ray, Craig Maddox (who once played piano in Wade's Wheel Horse band), and Dink Cook (we've seen him play bass with Wade at Judge Bean's).

.. The Writer's Night show at the Copper Kettle
The music, the food and the weather were all great. You couldn't have asked for a better night. The Copper Kettle sits high on a hill that overlooks downtown Nashville. The evening was pleasant enough that you could sit on the porch and enjoy the view. We chose to be inside - closer to the 4 talented musicians who were sharing their musical gifts. At a writer's night, songwriter's perform acoustically and share music that they've written. The musial mix will include familiar hits, other published material, as well as non-published material and songs that may have been written in the last week. It's the writer's choice. Steve Mandile shared "She Was Mine for a Little While," a Tim McGraw hit. Andy Childs gave us "Saving Grace," a Sixwire standard. Sixwire is a band formed by road musicians who are also songwriters; Childs and Mandile are members. Steve Hornbeak has been a vocalist and keyboard player for many artists, including Faith Hill, Lee Greenwood, Richard Marx and others. He has released a CD of Christian songs that he's penned. He shared the title track, "Walkin' Through Heaven's Door." These 3 were some of the best that I've heard at writer's nights around town. We heard 7 songs - some deep, some light-hearted, some rocking - from each of the evening's participants. The evening closed with Mandile and Childs leading "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight," in tribute to Dan Seals, who'd passed away that day.
Wade acknowledged the talents of his co-horts. "When I came in the parking lot and saw Mandile, Childs and Hornbeak, I knew I'd been ambushed." Wade's talents shone just as brightly as theirs. His memorable melodys and lyrics play in the listener's head long after the night is gone. He played all new tunes, ones that will be on his new album plus his favorite song, one that he didn't write, "Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground." He closed his part of the evening saying, "My goal is to someday write a song as good as that one."
