Water is needed in order to grow. Nothing living thrives in a stagnant state. MANX's new single WATER is an observation from a place where everything seems to stand still and dry up. That warm, comfortable comfort zone where nothing can happen, but the awareness is there that what you really need is a cold shower.
MANX is an alluring art-pop-universe, invented by producer and multi-field artist Maria Lakatos. She uses MANX as a space to create a world based off of daydreams and heavy synesthesia.
During the pandemic, Maria read a lot about Buddhism, which blended into her lyric writing. In WATER, a lesson is processed that obstacles you encounter on your way do not disappear because you hide from them. Worrying about letting life happen gets you nowhere. The protection from the emotions due to the fear of flooding is not really protection. To be washed away with the tide, to gently loose control, it might be worth following along.
Hurting but hopeful, the song paddles forward, showing the way into Maria's metaphorical river of emotional problem-solving.
