Hello Friends,

There are new and exciting developments to report.  Everything with my album, Double Capricorn, is handled completely independently.  I recorded this album in my back house, I'm mailing out all CDs and merch from my home (with my sloppy handwriting), and the music video for "Second Chances" was shot in the home I grew up in...with my brother and mother in the video!  It feels great to take this approach, from creation to release, and to gain so much valuable information along the way.  I look at everything as a learning experience and I feel incredibly lucky to be a recording artist in today's music climate.

Of these new and exciting things I mentioned before is the release of my music video for the first single off Double Capricorn, "Second Chances."  I like to lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, thinking about the day, the past, the future.  The idea of doing a video where I stay in bed, singing, in a daze, with strange and surprising people entering the room, felt like the right way to go for a song like, "Second Chances."  I wrote the lyrics to this song while on a Rooney tour in Germany.  I couldn't sleep one night, I woke up early and started writing lyrics over an instrumental song I had previously recorded.  I had the beat, the main melodic part, so I started riffing words over the chords and beat.  I was in a dreamlike state I guess, not sure, but these were jet lag lyrics.  So in this video, we're in that in between state of sleep and awake, and characters enter and exit to heighten this experience.

The director of the video, Max Goldblatt, and I went to high school together.  He is a high energy guy, with a dense knowledge of film history, able to pull references from obscure films to inspire his work.  With a background in film editing, he sees the film from many perspectives.  We made a movie in high school called, "The Adventures of Buck and Butch," about a seventies crime fighting duo, which I hope to release on YouTube, if we can find it!  It was our first collaboration, so, all these years later, it's very cool to be working together again.

I'd like to thank everyone who helped out to make this video possible.  Everyone in the video gave their time to share in the experience and to bring life to the finished piece.  I want to give an extra shout out to my Mother, who plays my Mother in the scene where they think I'm possessed, and my brother Jason, who plays my brother/bandmate...(watch his skills at creating the slow motion effect in real time).  My Mother was in a Rooney video years ago, but this is the first video where Jason and I got to rock out together.

In addition to the video release, we are discounting the album and all merchandise on my website.
