WATCH: 'Well Okay Honey

“Fierce, focused and joyful” is how Ann Powers of NPR describes the music of Jenny O.

We couldn’t agree more.

Jenny’s debut EP, Home was initially self-released in 2011 to tremendous attention and acclaim. Picked up by Los Angeles based indie, Manimal Vinyl (Warpaint, Bat for Lashes, Sister Crayon, papercranes, etc.), Home will be released in the UK on 23rd July 2012 and will coincide with her debut UK tour which includes performances at (amongst others) Camp Bestival, Wickerman (Dumfries, Scotland), Summertyne (Gateshead), Secret Garden (Cambridgeshire), Kendal/ Standon and Wilderness (Oxfordshire) festivals as well as headline shows.

Originally from Long Island, New York, Jenny O. grew up playing jazz and classical music, while singing in classic pop cover bands and making home recordings on a 4-track reel-to-reel tape recorder. She graduated from the songwriting and recording program at Purchase Conservatory of Music and, after playing in several bands around New York City, Jenny settled in Los Angeles and became a fixture in the local music scene.

This year, Jenny O. toured with Leon Russell and Ben Harper, and was invited as a main stage performer on the Dave Matthews’ Band Caravan Festival.  In 2012, Jenny returned to the studio with producer Jonathan Wilson (Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Johnathan Rice, Dawes) to record her second full-length album (her first having never been released).

Jenny O.’s cover of Buddy Holly’s “I’m Gonna Love You Too” is featured on the Holly tribute album Rave On (Concord) alongside the likes of Black Keys, Fiona Apple, and Paul McCartney.
