Hackathon derives from the fusion of the words hacker and marathon, it is a competition in which different teams contend to find a solution to a given problem. For the first edition of the Hackathon, organized in collaboration with Facility Data Standard Consortium (FDS), the problem to be answered will revolve around the theme Smart Facility: Cleaning Connected to the Future.
The cleaning sector is undergoing transformation and digitization not only helps service providers improve the health and safety of buildings, but also makes them the point of reference for implementing and achieving the buildings’ owner ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) objectives. In essence, the teams will compete to demonstrate how cleaners, trained and equipped with digital tools, can contribute in achieving ESG objectives and bringing objectively measurable results.
University students from the IT, economics, engineering, management, environmental and design fields can apply for the competition, who will participate in teams of 3/6 people for a maximum of 10 working groups. The winning team, decreed by an international jury, will receive a prize of €3,000 for the winning team and the team that takes second place will receive €1,000.
The Hackathon will also be an opportunity for visibility for companies that want to participate and support the digital transformation in the professional cleaning and integrated services sectors. Indeed, it is possible for companies, whether they are exhibiting at ISSA PULIRE 2023 or not, to become a sponsor of the Hackathon in the Diamond, Team and Supporter categories.
