December 5,  2014

THE MISSION of the Dr. Alfonsina Q. Davies Epilepsy Foundation is to improve the lives of those afflicted through increased research efforts, a better treatment modality and the elimination of the stigma and prejudice that surrounds this disease in all facets of public life.
Give a Gift of Life and Health.  Please  DONATE WHAT YOU CAN  for those who are suffering and dying daily from this horrible disease.  Anyone at any age can have a seizure!!!

Exciting News for 2015
The group above is a team of incredibly talented individuals who have designed or animated many of the movies that you have seen for the past 20 or so years. Think "The Prince of Egypt", "Madagascar", "Shark Tale", and many more from various US and Foreign Studios.  This talented group, excluding my wife and myself, is led by Carlos Grangel, a world renowned Character Designer, and the directors of four other major studios in France and Spain. (There are many more people involved who do not appear in the picture)

These wonderful and talented people are working to animate a character likeness of our daughter Nina, created and designed by Oscar nominee, Carlos Grangel. They will bring Nina to life graphically in a video designed to help end the discrimination against those who suffer seizures and also bring awareness and understanding world wide about this devastating disease. With so much talent behind it, it should go viral on Youtube and perhaps even beyond.

The incredible thing is that they are working interminable hours without any sort of  PAY, they are giving of their talent and themselves  because they believe in helping the cause of Epilepsy and all the millions afflicted. The project has been going on for months and may be completed by next summer. Tom and I could never have been able to commission a work of this kind which would run in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

There are no words to thank these folks for their generosity. They are all very rare human beings who set an example for the rest of us. Please remember how lucky you are to be healthy and  especially during this season give a thought to those less fortunate and help us begin the research on epilepsy at UCLA by the end of the year.

A scientist has already been appointed but we need to reach the mark of a million dollars before he can be seated in Nina's endowed Chair at UCLA.

DEEPLY FELT THANKS TO CARLOS AND JORDI GRANGEL(You are awesome), Carlos Burges (Grangel studio Barcelona), Javier Leon (Director of the studio in Cadiz), Raul Carbo (Director of the studio in Montpellier) and Josep Hernandez and Alvaro Casares (Directors of the studios in Mallorca, not in the photo).
