RANGER REPORT & MONDAY, MARCH 12, 2007

"The entire concept of pessimism crumbles the moment one human being puts aside thoughts of self and reaches out to another to minister to her suffering. The experience of either person can neither be denied nor adequately explained by a negative philosophy.

I hate to be so negative about pessimism, but there it is."

– Mike Nelson (MST3K)

Hola amigos!

Here is the latest Los Manatees news:

Work continues on our long-awaited studio album. Just a few more sessions and we're all done. The Ranger Will solo album is following close behind…There will soon be many CD release parties all over the region, radio appearances, bus trips to NYC, etc…

This promises to be a historic year for Los Manatees.

We are all very excited about our upcoming debut show at The Sellersville Theater (in beautiful downtown Sellersville, PA) on Thursday, April 5. We will be opening for Mike Guilden's band, Rollin'& Tumblin'. It is a benefit concert for the annual 3-Day Cancer Walk of which Mike's wife is an active participant. You can order tickets through the theater's box office or through their web-site www.st94.com Kathleen Weber will be singing, Bob Rominiecki will be doing his light show, and Uncle Ronkle will be recording everything.

Manatee Fun Fact: Did you know that the last show I saw at the Sellersville Theater was David Lindley and the first show I ever played in America was opening for David Lindley at New York University in 1985? It's true! (David Lindley returns to The Sellersville Theater on Sunday April 15!)

We have begun uploading certain live shows from our vast collection to www.archive.org Check them out here.

Manatee Fun Fact: Did you know that sometime Manatee drummer Ritchie DeCarlo (who played, engineered, and produced the recent Christmas CD) has opened his own music store and named it RDC Music? It's true! Details to follow…

This Saturday we play a St. Patrick's Day show at Bob's Barn in Lahaska, PA. The following Friday we return to The Sandtrap in Limerick, PA. We will be joined by our Rhino Horns.

Manatee Fun Fact: Did you know that our drummer Mr. Jimmy's wife Beth gave him a Noble & Cooley snare drum (The Rolls-Royce of snare drums) for his birthday? It's true!

That's all for now from this here Ranger. Stay strong and warm. Spring ain't too far away now…

Manatee Fun Fact: Did you know that Manatees family member Master G. Best has just returned from over a year in Thailand and Cambodia and is now freezing his ass off up in Canada? It's true!
