We are really excited about the start of March this year!! Not only is it the start of Spring and cute videos of lambing season, but it is when the light returns and we start thinking about warm weather creations like light shawls and summer tops. Spring also means new classes at the shop. Our complete class calendar for Spring is live now, you can view it here or register for classes here. Along with new classes, we also have a bunch of Spring and Summer events coming up starting with our annual Yarn Madness Sale in a few weeks. Don't forget to follow us on Facebook or Instagram to hear about everything happening in the coming months.

We would like to offer a big congratulations to Carol Spence who was our Finishing February drawing winner. We had 67 entries and are so proud of all the projects everyone finished this month. Carol wins a $50 ReBelle gift certificate!!

New In The Shop

For the month of March, we will be participating in the Malabrigo Dos Tierras KAL. To celebrate, we put together some kits of color combos that we love availble in the shop and online. There are eight pre-made color packs available, but if none of these excite you, we also have 40 colors of Dos Tierrra in the shop for you to create your own kit. Whether you use our colors or pick your own, every color pack purchased from us comes with a free shawl stick to use with your finished project. We are really excited to see what you come up with.

See the events section below for more details on the KAL.
If you are a fan of Spring transitions and rainy days, you are going to love this month's Crazy Beautiful Color of the month from Emma's Yarns. "March 2024” has a somewhat subtle, limey green base color with blooms and blossoms of the happiest and springiest shades! It’s the perfect color to transistion from an icy cold winter to a lively spring season! It plays so well with a huge variety of coordinating colors! Pictured here with
Harbor, Tealicious, Sage Before Beauty, Shake, Sprout, Make Dat Monet, Very Berry, Heavy Pour, and Nightshade.

Also back in stock from Emma's are the Theme Packs in "Isn't She Grand" and "In a Mood." Each pack has ten Practically Perfect Smalls for a total of 200g, 810yds of fingering weight yarn in a perfectly cordinated pack. We really like these for projects like the Colourful Geometry Scarf, the Trifle Wrap, the Cooma Cowl, Aberration Cowl, Shifting Light shawl, or to create a colorful yoke in patterns like the Ola Yoke, the Fernwood Sweater, or the Crofthoose Yoke.

Now a little something for the spinners. Malabrigo created these wonderful mixed fiber packs each with ten 25g mini balls of their Nube combed top. No two packs are the same and while we had them for a short time in December, they sold out before we got a chance to tell you about them. These are great for spinners, but they can also be used for felting and thrumming.

Events at ReBelle

Mark your calendars, ReBelle's Yarn Madness Sale is coming up on March 23 & 24!! We will have lots of great yarn and notions on sale for 30-40% off. We will send out an email right before the sale detailing everything, but trust us, this is our biggest sale of the year and you won't want to miss it.

For the month of March, we will be participating in Malabrigo's Dos Tierras KAL. The project for this year is the Friendship Shawl by Jill Tamminen, a three color triangle shawl knit on the bias. Whether you are an experienced shawl knitter or brand new, you will find this pattern both fun and relaxing. The pattern uses one skein each of three colors, but could be done with as many or as few colors as you like. We will have color packs available in the shop with the official color selections and some of our selections or if you prefer to pick your own, we are always here to help.

All ReBelle knit alongs are free and open to the public. You are welcome to attend as many or as few of the KAL sessions as you like.

Papillon Shawl/Cowl

The Butterfly/Papillon Shawl pattern by Marin Melchoir has taken the knitting world by storm. It's become an excellent way to show off those self striping yarns and is sure to turn heads wherever you go, it's a true work of art.

In this class Susan will teach you how to read the pattern, the ins and outs of short rows, using stitch markers and finding your place in the pattern once you have put it down. The class will knit the first few sections of the pattern as a group and you will leave with a solid understanding of how all of the elements work together to make the pattern you see. Then, at the end of class, you can choose to continue and finish the shawl version of the Papillon or you can finish off the class section of the project to create a bandanna cowl with the beautiful butterfly patterning.

Ito Poncho

The Ito Poncho (the English version of this is actually called Ito Shrug) by Marit Soettem is a great way to show off striping yarns like Plymoth Wizard or Noro Ito. It is knitted by making mitered squares which are joined as you go. This results in very little finishing at the end (always a bonus!) Susan will teach you all about mitred square construction and should you choose a different type of yarn that what is called for, she will help you adjust the pattern to match the gauge of the yarn of your choosing (just knit a 4 inch swatch before class.

Pressed Flower Workshop

The Pressed Flowers Sock by Savory Knitting will be the main project for this class, but if you choose, you can make another Pressed Flowers pattern: there’s a cowl, shawl, sweater, hat and vest in the Pressed Flowers family. Pressed Flowers are knit using the mosaic technique, there is only one color used at a time. Slipped stitches and the use of garter stitch accents give this pattern so much power and make it one you will want to work again and again.  The socks are done with an afterthought heel so if you choose the socks as your pressed flower pattern, you will learn to create and maintain a heel after all of the knitting is done.
