Issue #183  October 2020

So...maybe 2020 isn't so bad after all. Yes, there are the politics, the pandemic, the president, the poverty, the PPE, the prejudice, the protests, the propaganda, the pandemonium, the partisanship, and the pettiness of it all. But that's just focusing on the negatives (particularly those starting with the letter P).       But surely it's not that hard to find Positive news if I take the time to look and look, and look, and look, right? So that's what I did & here's what I came up with...
There's the priceless time with family, the promise of a vaccine, the perseverance in learning Zoom, the persistance political calls, the pervasive shortages, the painful cancellations...well phooey! Never mind. that positive outlook degenerated too quickly didn't it?
I guess 2020 just is what it is,
so let's just get started!

October 2020 "Eye Candy"
It’s time for your monthly treat for the eyes & here’s the deal…even there's FAR more variety in October's selection of bags but they all have one thing in common... they're all GORGEOUS!  ALL of the bags pictured below have been shared recently on either our FaceBook business page, our Instagram feed or on our Group page on FaceBook.

(For LARGER images: Click on each individual pic)

Janet Madison enlarged herCosmo Convertible an inch taller in height in order to accomodate the size of her laptop. Have YOU ever enlarged a bag pattern to suit your needs? And if so, how did it turn out?

This Sling Along is a study in sugar skulls and its hard to believe that this is the very 1st bag of any type that Brenda LaPorte has ever made! Great job Brenda!

It’s hard to believe that this Everyday Attache was actually the 1st StudioKat Designs bag that Barbara Wilson‘s has ever created! She did a fantastic job and I can’t wait to see what her encore will be!

Connie Beeler fashioned her Guardian exterior in memory of her beloved pet! Connie LOVES her Guardian and printed a picture of her canine buddy on fabric for the credit Card area of this bag!

Nancy Rosa has made several Sling Along‘s but this is the 1st one she has fashioned that features a Hawaiian theme!

Pineapples anyone?
Nancy Rosa created this spectacular Sling Along for a special friend!

Gail Peters says that she LOVES the size of her Guardian bag but I love the unique exterior fabric she chose for her bag!

Cindy Gatewood made her Sling Along on a girl’s sewing weekend with a friend and did a fabulous job! She says she LOVES it and I can see why!
And “a sweet little backpack” is what Nancy Rosa calls her new Odyssey! I love the brave usage of the striped contrast and polka-dotted bias tape! GENIUS!

And finally, our polka dot zippers are a dramatic addition to Linda Stidham‘s Sling Along! I also love that she added the red & black contrast to this large floral design!

When former Edinburgh Rugby player Dean Nicholson packed his job in to travel the world, he hoped it would be a life-changing experience.
But what the 31-year-old didn't realise is that it would be a tiny four-legged friend that would change him forever.
Dean, a welder from Dunbar, was sick of his 9-5 existence and decided to get on his bike and see the world.

Sewing in the News- Sewing is making a Comeback
Let it be said that when their country needed them the most, the nation’s army of sewers answered the call!
Indeed, stitchers’ collective output of tens of thousands of cloth masks during the coronavirus outbreak has been nothing short of astounding, filling a gaping need for protective coverings and in the process creating a run on elastic rivaled only by the mad rush for toilet paper.
Who would’ve guessed so many people were still firing up their Singers?

This month we're featuring our Wrapsody pattern, which has four zippered pockets, (one on the back & three on the inside) along with three (or more) little credit card holders sewn into the interior pockets.
