TOWN BLOCK PARTY
Don’t forget our Town Block Party on May 20th at 6:00 pm at the Southeast Park Pavilion (Bowery). Join and meet your neighbors for food, games, fun and relaxing conversation. At press time, it is still in the planning stages, but we may combine our block party with a fund raiser for a very good cause. Mark your calendar and be sure to attend.

EVENTS COMMITTEE
On a related note, thanks to those who have volunteered to serve on the Community Events Committee, but we could still use more volunteers. If you would be willing to serve on the committee, please email events@HuntsvilleTown.com or leave a message at 745-3420.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
The Fourth of July is rapidly approaching and this year’s celebration promises to be bigger and better than ever - an expanded FIREWORKS show has already been planned thanks to our Fireworks professional, Alan Clapperton. There will also be more afternoon activities and maybe even an exciting surprise or two.

A bigger and better show will require more helpers willing to pitch in to make our celebration great. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. For more information, visit www.HuntsvilleTown.com and click on “Get Involved” then “Independence Day”. For questions or to volunteer, please email events@Huntsvilletown.com or call 745-3420.

Dogs in Huntsville
On a more serious note, there have been many complaints over the past few weeks regarding unleashed or unrestrained dogs. Several residents have expressed frustration and have had to alter their walking or bike routes to avoid dogs - some have even been nipped or bitten.

Please do everything possible to keep your dogs in your yards - no one wants to be the “enforcer” and our hope is that we can “Police” ourselves and our pets. Our residents should be able to walk our streets safely.

An inexpensive and effective option is an underground fence which can be installed in a couple of hours for about $100. If you would like more information or would like to see one in action, contact council@HuntsvilleTown.com or call 745-3420. Thanks for your attention to this important matter.
