Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

AS WE HOPE, WE ARE HELPED

Because of Christ's righteousness which covers our sins like a white robe, we have been given the right to approach the throne of God Almighty and speak openly to Him. Yet we still need God's daily assistance, even in prayer.

We've been given such a powerful tool, yet sometimes we neglect to use it. We forget to pray! And when we do remember to speak to God in prayer, sometimes we pray for the wrong things. Or even if we're trying to pray to God about the right things, sometimes we can't seem to find the proper words to express ourselves to Him.

But as we hope in Christ and reach out in prayer, we are helped by God. The Holy Spirit supplements our inadequate prayers. He fills in the gaps that we miss.

Because He is God, the Holy Spirit never forgets to pray for us. Because He is God, the Holy Spirit knows exactly what needs to be asked for. And even more than this, the Holy Spirit communicates to the Father in ways that our words cannot. Absolutely nothing is lost in the translation. There is no misunderstanding between the God the Spirit and God the Father, because they are on the same page.

Jesus interceded once, for all sinners, when He died on the cross. He went between us and the Father, suffered our punishment and took our sins away. And now the Holy Spirit intercedes for us daily. He continually goes between us and the Father, faithfully expressing to the Father, the prayers we have overlooked. How comforting is that! Thank you Holy Spirit!

It seems that the Triune God will do anything and everything so that we might know Him through faith and speak to Him in prayer. Knowing no limits for the good of someone else. That's called love.
