Holiday Closures
July 4-6

Summer is here along with vacation knitting/crochet. Here at ReBelle, we are year round knitters so the weather doesn't dictate our projects, but we understand that some of you want projects suited for the hotter weather. We decided to make a list of projects types that work best with popular summer activities.

Great projects for air travelHats and cowls (anything using a circular needle or a single crochet hook)

Great projects for car travelSocksscarves, and cowls

Great projects for the beachDishcloths and Market Bags

Great projects for sitting in the AC and bingwatching your favorite TV seriesSweaterstops, and blankets

**ProTip- If you happen to be working on your fall/winter projects during the summertime, sit the project on a flat surface like a table, lapdesk or TV tray while you work, anything that allows airflow between your body and your project. This will keep you cool and comfortable while working on those heavier items.**

Finally, a reminder that if you need suppies for the upcoming holiday weekend, you should stop by this week. We will be closed Friday, July 4- Sunday July 6 for the holiday. We will reopen the shop on Tuesday, July 8.

New In The Shop

We have some exciting new notions from Twice Sheared Sheep. To the left is the Sock Sizing Bracelet Ruler to help you knit the perfect sock size for anyone. The ruler has both shoe sizes (American and EU) and traditional measurements (imperical and metric) and rolls up out of the way when not in use. Next we have the Work Until...Measuring Tape. This handy little device hangs from your needle letting you know both how far you have worked and how much farther you have to go. The Quick Gauge Ruler allows you to quickly check your stitch gauge (both kniotting and crochet) without counting. Simply line up the boxes with your stitches and it tells you your stitch gauge. Turn it sideways and it will also give you a row gauge. Last, but certainly not least, are the pastel cat open stich markers, perfect for crochet.

In 2010, LYS owner Aimee Alexander started handdying yarns inspired by the colors around her in Whitefish, Montana. Polka Dot Sheep Striata Gradient is lovingly hand-dyed in long meandering color blocks with color changes so gradual you'll hardly notice them evolving under your hook or needles.  The yarn is a luxurious blend of 80% superwash merino and 20% silk in a fingering weight with a generous 437yds/100g.

Susan used the Striata paired with a solid color of Emma's Super Silky to make the Lamina Wrap by Ambah O'Brien and it came out absolutely stunning. Other great patterns for this yarn are Striata by Aimee Alexander (maybe paired with an Emma's Practically Perfect Half,) the Switchback Wrap by Aimee Alexander, or the Traveler Cowl by Andrea Mowry.

The Felted Dog is the creative business of two sisters from Colorado who specialize in felting kits (both needle felting and wet felting) and felting tools. We grabbed some really fun new needle felting kits from them including this delightful dumpster fire friend. Feeling stabby? Maybe you need an Emotional Support Dumpster Fire to make you feel a little better. Just like our other felting kits, the Felted Dog kits include all of the tools and materials you will need to make the projects.

We also added a bunch of their Hedgie tools to our felting tool section. It's rare that we see a new tool for needle felting that really excites us and the Hedgie tool by Felted Dog did just that! This little hedgehog does more than just sit there and look cute, it holds your small pieces in place and protects your finger while allowing to to really get in and create beautiful clean edges with a felting needle. If you are making creatures, flowers, or other felted projects involving small felt edges you are going to wonder how you ever survived without this little hedgehog buddie.

We have some new closures from jUL Designs including more of her wonderful shawl sticks and some of her removable stud buttons for the times when a shawl stick is too much. For those who haven't seen her stud buttons before, they are a cross between a shawl pin and a button requiring no button holes and give the finished look of a traditional button. To use the buttons, simply remove the leather backing, slip the button shaft in between the stitches of the knitwear / crochetwear and then pop the leather backing on the shaft on the wrong side of your material. That's it, instant styling.

Rare yarn alert- Malabrigo Metamorphosis!! Metamorphosis is a gradient version of the Malabrigo Sock you know and love and it isn't always available. We managed to snag this yarn in four colorways- Jaipur Pink, Moreine Lake, Marrakech, and London Alley. Get it while it is here!!

Looking for a project to use these in? We think the Musselburgh Hat by Ysolda Teague, the Pogona Shawl by Stephen West, the Tendril Shawl by Carmen Heffernan, or the Jessica Jones Cowl by Handmade by Smine would do a great job of showing off this yarn.

For the month of July, we will be doing Christmas in July for our Thursday knit along theme. Whether you are starting holiday gifts or working on holiday décor, all projects are welcome.  Each person will pick their own pattern that falls in the category of Christmas in July and we will knit/crochet them together.

Robyn created two Ravelry bundles here and here with several pattern ideas if you need some help finding the perfect pattern. She is also available if you need help finding a pattern for a particular yarn.

Every Thursday in July. 12-2pm
