John 9:4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.
WITNESSING CHRIST: NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT
Have you ever put something off until it was too late? What about one of those mail-in rebates? Companies know that they will get a lot of people to buy their products by offering a sizable rebate. Companies also know that a good portion of those rebates will go unclaimed because many will never get around to mailing them in or do it too late.
When it comes to taking care of a rebate, it's probably best to do it right when a person gets home from the store. When it comes to our witness for Christ, there is also no time like the present. We do not have an unlimited amount of time to spread the message of Jesus to others. We never know when the end of our time on earth will be. We never know when someone else's time here will come to an end.
Like many things, it is easy to put off sharing our witness with someone who needs to hear it, even though we know how important it is. Let us make no mistake about it, Satan hopes that we keep doing this. He is like the company that hopes the customer waits too long and forgets to send in the rebate before the deadline.
Instead of doing what Satan wants, let us adopt the attitude that our Savior had as He did His work here on earth. He said, "I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work." When it came to the work of our salvation, Jesus did not waste time or miss the deadline, so to speak. Jesus did everything in the right time and in accordance with His Heavenly Father's will so that we would not be lost.
Jesus has indeed accomplished the work of salvation here in this world, but our Heavenly Father has work for us to do here as well. He wants us to go and tell others about this good news, and He doesn't want us to delay.
Is there someone that you know who needs to hear the good news about Jesus? Have you, for some time, been meaning to tell that person this good news of salvation? Well, there's no time like the present. Don't delay. Work while it is still day.
