Wednesday 23 October

Next week we welcome to Unit13 (via Zoom) and our screens, John Miskelly FRPS, FIPF, HonFBIPP, from Newtownards, in Northern Ireland. John will be presenting his talk, via Zoom, on "fine art photography". This is what John says about his talk:

When I speak to other photographers, most understand light and how to make the most of it. However, a lot of photographers struggle with composition and how to ‘place’ the elements in a scene to provide simplicity, even when viewing seemingly complex scenes.
As a result, what I aim to achieve with my images is very much determined by how I’ve composed it and how I want the viewer’s eye to view that image.

This talk will therefore be a journey into long exposure landscape photography, looking at the various elements that I use to create my own distinctive style of imagery, my own personal vision.

I’ll share the gestation of an image from the RAW file through to the finished image which I then print on one of the Canson Infinity art papers.

Below are a few images to give a flavour of what we might expect. However, if you'd like to see more, just go to his website - John Miskelly Fine Art Photography:
