CLTA Conference 2011

Although the pre-registration period is over, you can still register for the CLTA Conference with a late fee of $50. In order to be processed, all mail-in registrations need to reach Sue McKee, conference registrar, by Saturday, March 12. If you wait to register on site, the on site registration fee is $100.

If your school is sending us your registration, please send in a copy directly to the conference registrar when you submit it to your school. This way we can hold your place and watch for your registration to come from your school.

Conference Interest Sessions - Special training for Apple users
  • Apples and Apps in the World Language Classroom, Part 1 and Part 2: iLife, iWork, Garage Band, iTunes and iMovie as well as and iPads.
  • Creating Tech Projects for Assessing Student Learning, Part 1 (Keynote)
  • Creating Tech Projects for Assessing Student Learning, Part 2 (iMovie)
  • Creating Tech Projects for Assessing Student Learning, Part 3 (Comic Life)
Requirements to attend these:
1. Participants will need to bring their wifi-enabled Apple laptops and iPads with the appropriate software/apps installed.
2. This is a ticketed session, and it is limited to 30 registered participants.
3. You must preregister for these sessions by emailing Lorraine d'Ambruoso at lordamb@comcast.net. She will acknowledge your reservation.
4. You may pick up your ticket at the reservation desk.
5. There is no additional fee to attend these sessions beyond regular conference registration.

Continuing Education Units

Attendees at the CLTA Conference can earn up to 2 units of Continuing Education Units offered through San José State University. Registration information and attendance logs will be available at the Hospitality Desk at the conference. One unit of credit is available per 10 hours of sessions (for $70), 1.5 units per 15 hours (for $105) and 2 units per 20 hours (for $140. To get the full 2 units of credit, a participant would need to attend at least one of the 3-hour workshops offered on Thursday. Payment can be by credit card or personal check.

Guinness World Record in Fair Oaks, CA?
24-hour marathon LIVE webcast about the benefits of language study
Local high school students to attempt Guinness World Record for longest live, uninterrupted webcast Feb. 22-23 for Discover Languages Month
 
High school students in Fair Oaks, California, and their teacher, Nicole Naditz, have put together a 24-hour marathon LIVE webcast about the benefits of language study in honor of Discover Languages Month. The entire webcast will stream live out of Naditz's classroom at Bella Vista High School from 8:30 a.m. Feb. 22 through 8:30 a.m. Feb. 23.
