John 14:2-3 "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."

DESTINATION: HEAVEN

When I took the call to serve here in Weslaco, Texas, it was the first time in my adult life that I moved to a place I knew nothing about. I had no idea of what to expect. The previous places I had moved to, I had been there before, seen them, so I knew what was coming. In this case, I imagined how Abram felt when the Lord told him to pack up and move to a place that God would show him; a land flowing with milk and honey -- a land that God would give to him. Yet for the remainder of Abram's life, while he lived in the land of promise, he considered himself a stranger, a foreigner, and longed for the better country.

My Redeemer came not to make me a "citizen" of this world, but to make me a stranger and foreigner in this world, with the promise that my citizenship is in heaven and that is my homeland. It is there, to that place I am going, there where my Redeemer leads me, and brings me safely across on dry ground.

Have I seen that place? Not the physical aspects of heaven. But really, what difference does what it looks like make? The point is, the comfort is, as Jesus says, "where I am, there you may be also." I know my Redeemer, so I know heaven. It is my destination. Of this I am certain. Because Jesus said that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. God grant for Jesus sake this to all; I know, my Redeemer, Jesus.
