Members of the Wednesday Writers - including Jeanne Halpern and Ellen Newman - read from Something That Matters, the East Bay writing group’s latest anthology of true stories that focus on women’s midlife encounters with love, sex, mortality and more. All proceeds from sales of the book, edited by Elizabeth Fishel and Terri Hinte, benefit the Carol Ann Read breast health center at the Alta Bates Summit Hospital in Oakland.
