Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him
NOTHING ELSE LIKE IT
Most of you have probably seen "taste tests" on television commercials. A sampling of different potato chips, sodas, or other foods are laid out before the consumer. The person must then pick out which is the "genuine" product. One particular sample will "win" the test because it will taste differently than all the rest.
But how can a person tell which religion is genuine? People have said to me, "There are so many different teachings out there, how can you be so sure which one is really from God?" Is there a taste test to determine such a thing? In a way, there is. The psalmist encourages us to "taste and see that the LORD is good."
Sample what Jesus has done for you! You will find that it is unique. You will find that there is nothing else like it on the whole "plate" of religious teachings. Nothing else "tastes" quite the same. Only Christ tells you that salvation belongs to you as a free gift; not something you must earn by your own effort. Only Christ tells you that you have escaped the wrath of God because He took your place on death row. There is no other teaching like this in all the world. There is no other religion that gives man a Savior apart from himself. Taste and see that the LORD is good! You will find Christianity to be the genuine article!
"Thy works, not mine, O Christ,
Speak gladness to this heart;
They tell me all is done,
They bid my fear depart.
To whom save Thee, who canst alone
