Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

I, YOUR MIGHTY LORD, WILL BE WITH YOU ALWAYS

At the close of His Great Commission Jesus added the words: "Surely, I am with you always even to the end of the age." He assured His disciples that as they went about their God-given task of sharing His life-giving Gospel message with people, He would be present to guide their efforts and crown their work with success.

Still He gives this promise to His believers today, to you and me. Just think of it! The Jesus who once rebuked the boisterous winds and rolling waves of Lake Galilee, and they obeyed -- He is with us to guide and bless our efforts to share the words of eternal life. The Jesus who ascended to heaven and now sits at God's right hand far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else in this world or the one to come, whom God appointed to be head over everything for the benefit of the Church -- He has given the promise: "Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Therefore we may go about fulfilling the Great Commission with courage and good cheer. Our success as His ambassadors doesn't depend on our limited strength but on His unlimited strength! He'll use the powerful Gospel we share to multiply the number of who trust in His saving name and to make them citizens of His eternal realm.
