After a
brief but very brave battle with cancer, Lewy, passed away in Royal
Prince Alfred Hospital in the early hours of Sunday, July 5th with his
cherished wife, Fabia, by his side.
A man of great taste, on Pittwater Lewy travelled in a typically
battered tinny built for comfort not for speed; a Persian rug taking
pride of place on the floor. Many of the residents have
called upon Lewy’s great electrical skills to fix wiring
install anything electrical in their homes. Generous to a
fault, he often would not charge for his services, and there are many
stories of desperate home owners who relied upon him in times of
emergency. Fearless with a drill, he could do anything
required.
As an electrician by trade, Lewy was a well known Gaffer in the
Australian film and television industry, held in high regard for his
warmth, generosity and unflappable good spirits. With a
diverse career spanning more than 25 years, Lewy worked on a wide
variety of projects including commercials, television series, and
documentaries.
Lewy loved nothing more than being by the water, beer in hand,
surrounded by good friends. In that spirit, Fabia Sparks,
along with Peter and Kerry Scott, invite all those who knew and loved
Lewy to celebrate his life at the Scott’s home, 9 Robertson Road,
Scotland Island, at 12.30pm on Saturday, July 11th, 2009.
It’s waterfront, four houses towards Tennis Wharf, from Cargo Wharf on
the Island, phone 9999 2910.
Lewis was such a gentle, easy going man who will be sorely missed by
all who knew him.
