MIGHTY MANATEES PLAY SELLERSVILLE THEATER ON FIRST SATURDAY NIGHT OF THE NEW YEAR! - It's true! This Saturday, January 7, we return to the mighty Sellersville Theater w/ opening act Boris Garcia!
It has been a year since we played our 30th Manaversary Concert at The Sellersville, and 2 years since we played there with Boris Garcia. This promises to be a most excellent night of music.
We will be playing with our mighty 9-piece line-up featuring 2 keyboards (Karl Frick & Tim Hooper), 2 drummers (Jim Hines & Ras Mykyl), 2 guitarist/vocalists (Brett Andrew & myself), John Rosa-Bian on sax & flute, and Kathleen Weber on vocals & percussion. KARL & MARLENA'S NEW SNOW BLOWER! - Manatee bassist/keyboardist Karl Frick & Marlena live in a house on a big hill. It has a very steep driveway and when it snows it can be very difficult for them to clear. Manatee flutist/saxophonist John Rosa-Bian thought it would be a good idea to get Karl & Marlena their very own snow plow so he started a secret fund-raising campaign. The funds were raised, John purchased the snow plow, and we surprised Karl & Marlena with it at our New Year's Eve gig last Saturday night at Hotel Fiesole in Skippack, PA. Many thanks to everyone who contributed and especially to John who conceived and oversaw the entire project.
