John Bradshaw FRPS - "An Italian Journey". This will be John's Fellowship project on the Grand Tour, incorporating many prints produced using alternative processes. This work is all darkroom but has recently been on show at the Julia Margret Cameron Trust and Galleries at Dimbola Lodge on the Isle of Wight.
 
Annual Projected Image Competition - Closing Date Change
Don't forget that the closing date for the Annual Projected Image Competition has been changed to 7 May. The judge this year will be Tom Dodd FRPS.
 
Images as usual to competitions@bristolphoto.org.uk - any queries to Jeff at the same address. Please note Jeff is away from 23 April to 4 May, so you won't get the usual confirmation emails during that period. 
 
FILE NAMES
Jeff has asked me to point out there is a conflict in your BPS Handbook, the file names should take the form as described on page 26 and NOT as shown on page 25
 
Print Competition
Last Wednesday saw the final round of the Print Competition which was judged by WCPF President, Eddie Lane ARPS DPAGB. The winners on the night were Marcin Lubianka (Intermediate) and Margaret Collis (Advanced); the overall competition series winners and recipients of the cups were Mike Bigger (Intermediate) and Barry Mead (Advanced)

Date For Your Diary
Tomorrow, 26 April is the date for the annual BPS pilgrimage to the Woodford Point to Point races. The event, as its name suggests, is held at Woodford which is 15 miles north of Bristol on the A38 and has provided a good opportunity for members to photograph this type of event for the past few years. There are no fences to separate the public from the horses so you can get really close to the action. For further details, please follow this link.
 
Exhibitions to Visit
BPS members Peter Brisley and Sue O'Connell are having an exhibition entitled "Viewpoints"
at the Photographique Gallery in Clare Street, Bristol Centre. Part of the Bristol Festival of
Photography, it runs from the 1-16 May. The Exhibition will reflect their different approaches to
both travel and abstract photography  
 
Bristol Festival of Photography. As mentioned above the Festival runs from 1 - 16 May and covers a huge spectrum of things photographic. Full details of what's on and where can be found by visiting the BFOP website at www.bfop.org
 
Figuratively Speaking - an exhibition of sculpture, painting and photography at the Grant Bradley Gallery in Bedminster featuring the photographs of BPS member, Derwood Pamphilon. The exhibition is open until 3 May (Mon - Sat 10am - 5pm) and is free to enter. More details can be found on their website.
 
WCPF Members' Annual Exhibition 2014 is being held at Buckfast Abbey from 3 to 18 May. Entry is free. More details available on the WCPF website.
 
Trumpet Blowers' Corner
If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.

(23/05) Vintage Stereo Cameras Richard Harris is helping to administer a friends estate which includes some vintage stereo cameras. These include a Sputnik medium format, a Jules Richard Verascope F40 and a David White Realist. If anyone is interested in these collectors' cameras, please email Richard at richard@grevedelec.com for more details.
