Revelation 22:20 "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

WAITING FOR JESUS!

When I was a little child I didn't like it when my Mom and Dad went out for the night and my brothers and I were left with a babysitter. I guess I worried that they might get in a car accident and never return. I remember looking out the back window, and whenever I saw headlights coming down the road I would rush to the front door to see if the car would pull into our driveway. How relieved I was when it was Mom and Dad finally back home.

I don't have to worry if my mighty Savior God is coming back. Nothing can keep Jesus from returning just as He’s promised. But I'm praying He'll return very soon!

Jesus has already taken away all my sins. He's already accomplished His mission to destroy death and win for me a place in my true home above. What He did in living a sinless life, dying a sacrificial death, and rising to life, He did for all. I'm so happy that He’s given me faith to believe it through His Spirit and Word. That means I have peace right now to carry me through all of life's struggles, its aches and pains.

Nevertheless, I desperately long to see my Jesus face to face. I can't wait for the day when He dries every tear from my eyes once and forever.

But this doesn't mean I'm just to sit and look up at the sky, doing nothing as I wait for Him. I'm not to wait for Him like I did for my parents when I was a little boy. Rather He wants me to keep one eye on heaven and the other eye on the things He's given me to do while still on earth. He wants me to be busy sharing His gospel of love with other sinners, as well as living for Him, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. But still I pray, "Lord Jesus, come quickly! Oh, do come quickly!"
