MANATEES IN THE CARIBBEAN! - It's true! From Saturday, February 4 to Sunday, February 12 we will be playing on St. Maarten Island in the Dutch West Indies. Pete Allen (of Pete's Barn fame) has hired us to play at his tropical paradise for a week. Randy, Jozo, Kathleen, Dean, Tim Hooper, and myself. Also on the bill will be Eric Visnov (Velvet Shelter), Andrew Meehan (Cattalus), and a local band from St. Maarten called Ronnie Santana & Co.. There will be big boat rides (50 people) around the island, small plane rides (5 people) over the island, beach blanket bingo on the island, fishing trips, etc. There are many hotels on the island. The ones with more reasonable rates include Dream Be True, Mary's Boon, Ocean Shore, Guana Bay Villas, Holland House, Horizon View Beach Hotel, Lagoon Marina Apartments, and Beacon Hill Studio. NOTE: February is "High Season" and the rates are higher. It is best to book your trip ASAP. Avoid cancelation charges. It is a small island and everything is just minutes away. When booking flights, SXM is the abbreviation for Saint Maarten.
STRAY DOG TAVERN DEBUT! - This new Skippack club was formerly called "Justin's". It is now called The Stray Dog Tavern and they support rescue dog organizations. The acoustic trio of Randy, percussionist Tom Mussleman, and myself, will play there this Saturday night from 8:00 to 11:00 PM. Adequate seating! NOTE: This show will be rescheduled if the Phillies play a 6th World Series game on Sat. night.
LAST ROOT DOWN SUNDAY OF 2022! - This Thursday's acoustic duo show at Root Down Brewing has been cancelled due to the Phillies World Series game. This Sunday afternoon, November 6, will be our last Root Down Sunday until the spring when we will resume our "First Sundays" outdoor shows at the Root Down Biergarten. Dean, Kathleen, Randy, and I will be playing inside at Root Down Brewing, 1 North Main Street, Phoenixville, PA. Special guest: Brian Herder on dobro and electric guitar. NEIL YOUNG BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE! - On Saturday, November 12, Neil Young will turn 76 years old! We will celebrate with an acoustic/electric Neil Young Birthday Tribute that same night. It will be held inside the Ukrainian-American Sports Center, 1 Lower State Road, North Wales, PA. Special guest: Ted The Fiddler. TOM MUSSLEMAN'S BIRTHDAY @ FARACOS! - Mighty Manatees percussionist Tom Mussleman will celebrate his birthday with Randy and I on Saturday night, November 19, at Faracos in Quakertown, PA. Showtime is 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Excellent chicken parm.
FRIENDSGIVING AT STEEL CITY COFFEE HOUSE! - The Mighty Manatees acoustic 5-piece will debut at the Steel City Coffee House and Brewery in Phoenixville, PA, on Saturday, November 26 (two days after Thanksgiving). It will be an acoustic evening of original songs and stories. Randy, Kathleen, Jozo, Tom Mussleman, and myself will be joined by musical guests Ted The Fiddler and Smilin' Ed on the banjo. This is a show for all the visiting friends and family who are home for the holiday. Showtime is 7:30 to 10:00 http://www.steelcitybrews.com
