Ephesians 1:19 . . . and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe . . .

WITH EYES WIDE OPEN: THE POWER THAT DRIVES

And finally having your eyes open consider the strength of His power that is at work within us.

Here in India you never know what type of terrain the road is going to turn into. Sometimes it is smooth and well paved. Sometimes it is hard to know which has more holes, the roads in India or the theories of the evolutionists. Down steep sandbanks, across boulder-strewn fields, through dry riverbeds, it is not always certain at all that the van that we use will be able to make it through. In such situations our driver is extremely careful not to go down a road that our vehicle will not be able to cross because if you get stuck in India there is no automobile association to call for help. But if we had a military style Hummer, I doubt there is any terrain that would ever give us cause to pause. There would be almost no path closed to us, and no village beyond the reach of such a powerful vehicle. Which vehicle do you think is a more apt description of our God?

We are not among those who hold back. Because we know the strength of our God and the power that works within us, we are not timid. We do not consider obstacles in our path to be of significance. We ask one thing: Is this the way of the will of the Lord? Is this something the Lord wants me to do? And, if it is, we need not creep carefully, but can instead boldly step forth to do those things to which our Father has called us. Even when the task(s) seems completely overwhelming, when the life ahead of us stretches out in seemingly unassailable obstacles, we set forth in the strength and the Spirit of the Lord.

" . . . for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20).
