Revelation 5:13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!"
REDEEMER KING: FOREVER (2)
Reverberation is the persistence of sound after an initial sound has been made. It is something like an echo, but on a grander scale. It is actually many echoes in succession such as when a sound is produced inside a large church building. The famous St. Paul's Cathedral in London has a reverberation time of 11 to 13 seconds when empty. That means when the organist plays the last chord, it takes a long time for the sound to die away!
Will the praises of our Savior Jesus ever die away? They haven't in thousands of years. We still hear the praises of King David echoing in the Psalms. We still hear the voices of the apostles giving glory to the Redeemer. Our own praises resound year after year, week after week, and day after day as we cannot help but glorify Him who has bought us back from sin and death at the cost of His own life. As long as the world endures, believers will honor their Lord with hymns, songs, sermons, and prayers of praise. How great and glorious is the forgiveness and salvation He has granted to us!
In the eternal life to come, those praises begun on earth will continue. So the Lamb will be praised forever and ever--and rightly so!
Praise and honor to the Father,
Praise and honor to the Son,
Praise and honor to the Spirit,
Ever three and ever one:
One in might and one in glory
While unending ages run!
(The Lutheran Hymnal, 466:4)
