"Bag Making is FUN"
with StudioKat Designs
Issue #191 Mid-June 2021 |
Hello & Welcome!
It's been a VERY eventful month for us. First of all we've been very hard at work on our next bag pattern (which is in dire need of a name by the way), and as of yesterday I had the 2nd of two surgeries to fix the cataract problem I've been dealing for well over a year! So now I have a matched set of "new eyes" & even now I'm proud to say I already have the best vision of my life. I've told my husband that even eagles can't possibly see any better than I do! So while I'm admiring the view out my window I'll let you get started, & if you'd like a sneek peek at the latest sample I just finished, just click HERE!

Paula Brookover-Louis says that she saw this fabric and instantly knew exactly what she HAD to make! Her ErgoMatic is one amazing bag!
Dale Whyte has the honor of posting the very 1st Gemini FlightBag on our Group page and isn’t it LOVELY? Dale says she’s very happy with
the size & functionality of this bag and I love how she fussy-cut
the fabric for her straps!
Julie Widby said that she LOVED making her ErgoMatic and will definitely be making more of them!
Julie combined outstanding applique with amazing fabric combos for a totally awesome bag!
Since Gail Peters fell in love with the fabrications we chose for one of our early Gemini FlightBag samples she duplicated it & with great success! She said she loves especially the credit card storage area!
And if there’s one person whose interested in going “big & bold” when choosing their exterior fabrications, it’s Don Distler! This Quattro looks like it would be so much fun to carry, right?
And proving that our Quattro design is still relevant after all this time, this is Cynthia Kirby‘s amazing, girly Quattro!
This is the 9th Sling Along that Kim Mills has created & she says its quite possibly her favorite!
Due to an ongoing family crises & a 3-month battle with Covid, she’s just now finishing it! I'd say it was worth waiting for!
And here’s Susan Mautte‘s new Fall/Winter bag! She says she just loves this Guardian design and I love this rendition! |
Here’s a true set of Gemini twins! Cheryl Suitt says she has a FUN trip to Orlando planned later this year & wanted a “Harry Potter” themed bag for herself AND her traveling
companion to carry in the park!
And last but not least, here’s Kerry Jirak‘s rendition of our Everyday Attache. Kerry used Baby Yoda fabric from Edenelle to complete this look and I love it!

It is a truth universally acknowledged—at least by those of the feline persuasion—that an empty box on the floor must be in want of a cat. Ditto for laundry baskets, suitcases, sinks, and even cat carriers (when not used as transport to the vet).
That's the rationale behind a new study in the journal Applied Animal Behaviour Science with a colorful title: "If I fits I sits: A citizen science investigation into illusory contour susceptibility in domestic cats (Felis silvers catus)."
