Burnside Portland, Oregon | Thank you friends and fans of Portland
Story Theater First of all, we want to thank
everyone who came to see our fall ensemble show, My Favorite Pair. It was a
great run and we had a lot of fun telling our stories to warm and receptive
audiences. Everyone who saw the show really enjoyed themselves. Thanks so
much for coming out; we couldn't do it without you! Congratulations to Jim
Cser, winner of a pair of Portland Story Theater season passes!
What's
Next Shackleton's Antarctic
Nightmare January 23,
24, 30, & 31, 2009 Back by popular demand! PST is
pleased to announce the return of last year's sold-out solo show: the true,
epic tale of Ernest Shackleton and the voyage of the Endurance, written and
told by Lawrence Howard. This is the
gripping, heart-breaking, true story of British explorer, Ernest
Shackleton, and the Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914. Shackleton's dream
of being the first to cross the Antarctic continent on foot became a
nightmare when his valiant ship, the Endurance, was crushed in the pack-ice
of the Weddell Sea. The story of how he and the twenty-seven men of the
expedition survived on the ice and eventually came to safety is an epic
tale of hardship and suffering, of courage, determination and
fortitude. Many who saw the show last year have
said they would come again; many who missed it have begged for a return
performance. Woven with just a touch of personal narrative about Lawrence
and his father and the lifelong passion they shared for the Shackleton
saga, this is a performance that will move you to the depths of your
soul. Four shows only! Get your tickets
today!
If you've already got your tickets, you
rock! If not, you still rock, but don't miss
out. Seating is limited. Make your reservations today for
Shackleton's Antarctic Nightmare.

Valentine's
Day Smitten February 12, 13, 14 (two shows) & 15, 2009 The Shackleton show will hardly be over before it's
Valentine's Day. We've got a terrific line-up, with a duet by Will Hornyak
& Concetta Antonelli and another by Lynne Duddy & Lawrence Howard -
who knows, you might even see a real-life martial meltdown on the stage -
while Penny Walter and Michael Philips round out the evening with stories
of true love, heartbreak, and the
one that
got away. Remember that woman who was so beautiful it hurt you just to look
at her? Or that man you loved so much you wanted to smite him hip and
thigh? Come see the show; you're sure to be smitten.
