For the new folks around here, this is how the whole "Season" thing works:

Think of it like a TV series. You can watch the episodes each week for free, and at the end of the season, you can buy a DVD with all the shows plus some bonus shite.

 

With our "Season" releases, you can download a new song each week for free (yes - free!), and at the end of the season, you can buy a DVD/CD with all the music plus videos, liner notes, each single's artwork, and so on.

Pretty simple, right? Right. So, catch up on any Seasons you've missed, and stay tuned for more....

We haven't put out a newsletter in a while, but...y'know...being busy doing creative stuff beats busy doing marketing/pimping stuff like this any day. You can read all about our misadventures below, but we wanna get to the newest bit first.

The Singles - Season 6 starts September 9! Expect the usual schizo-phonic weekly episodes, with the outstanding array of misfits, miscreants, and malcontents you've come to know and love. We think the music is great, but saying that without sounding like cheeseballs ain't easy. So, let's just say it rocks harder than a Catholic priest at an altar boys' convention.

We've got some purty pictures to go along with the music, too. On Season 5, there were 20 or so artists we wanted to work with, but only 12 songs on the album. Season 6 picks up where that left off, giving us a chance to work with the people we had to leave out last time. We're also really happy to see the return of the artists from Seasons 1-4: Andy Ewen, Tone Deaf, Skinny Gaviar, and Kristie Lee.

As a teaser, we've uploaded a rough mix of one of the upcoming songs AND its original demo. We thought it might be interesting for y'all to see how things change over the course of working on a song. So there it is. We'll be back September 9, with the first piece of a really spectacular sooper awesome funtime collection of music and art.

We've been writing and/or recording pretty much constantly since the end of Season 5. We've had quite a few new folks around here too, most of whom you'll get to hear on the new releases.

Although the studio got priority this year, we have been working on the live thing too, and we'll be back on stage soon. We're revamping the existing show to add new material and fun tech-y stuff, but we've also been figuring out how to do a stripped-down version without all the tech for smaller gigs. You will definitely be able to see both versions in 2015.

Speaking of which, you'll get a taste of the work we've been doing on the live show from the songs on Season 6. Quite a lot of these songs were hatched in live jam sessions, and we actually kept a lot of the live vocal/guitar/bass/etc. tracks for the final versions. Two of the songs have even been in our setlist for quite a while....

And...we won another MAMA award, this time for Shirveled Soul as Best Hip Hop Song. Yeah, you heard us right - hip hop. We wouldn't really call this song hip hop (hell, one of the "rappers" is an Android tablet), but they don't have a seperate spoken word category, so, y'know.... Ah, yes - another good example of why categorizing music into tidy little boxes is a big mistake....
