Issue #145------August 2017

Welcome & thanks for reading this month's edition of Kat Bytes.
July was a really busy month (thankfully) with the release of our newest pattern, the Flaptastic Bag, but things have settled down enough that we're starting to think about Fall Quilt Market & what's next on our designing table.
But we still found time to find some fun stuff that I think you'll enjoy so why not grab a 2nd (or 3rd) cup of coffee and get started?

(For LARGER images: Click on each individual pic)

So let's kick it off with a girl that obviously loves baseball almost as much as I do!
Eileen Ostrowsky of Mukwonago, WI says her HipBag Hybrid is the perfect size for her and she loves the hip strap option... almost as much as she loves the Milwaukee Brewers!

This fantastic Wrapsody was created by Debbie Cisar of Crivitz, WI. Don't you just love the faux leather exterior and piping along the flap edge? Debbie is obviously a cat lover and herfabulously feline applique on the flap is just SO perfect!

Mandy Mitchell of the UK had fun fussy-cutting her Everyday Attache and what an accurate job, no? She said she was really pleased with the result and her daughter (who was the recipient of this bag) was equally thrilled with her gift!

And Cheryl Maass of Goodyear, AZ is back with yet another impossibly beautiful Quattro! I love the way she trims the pocket edges and of course the little charm on the zipperpull!

Nancy Davis of Vernon, AZ said her created this Walkabout Wallet especially for her granddaughter Kayla. She used "musical" fabric because Kayla loves music and has a beautiful voice!

And this "travel-conscious" Walkabout Wallet has a big trip in its future! Janet Moore-Lindstrom of Madison, WI is headed to a conference in Jerusalem and she's really looking forward to using this little bag at the airport and while she's touring!

And it's been quite sometime since we've seen one of our Purse Inserts in the monthly contest, but isn't this Porta-PocketsPLUS impressive? It was created by Mary Warman who plans on using it to organize her bathroom vanity drawer! Great idea Mary!

OK, ready to vote now?
Only one vote per MONTH, per email address.

Facebook has been rolling out autoplay videos with sound in the news feed. They claim this makes it easier for their users. Easier? Uh, not really. More like super annoying, so if you’re weird like me and don’t want videos to scare the crap out of you or annoy you unnecessarily, you can turn off the sound by default.  Here are the visual instructions
The instructions are a little different for Android and iPhone, but it's presented both ways.

CNN- Monday July 24, 2017---
In today's political climate, catty politicians claw for every vote, but the mayor of Talkeetna, Alaska, was different. His ability to unite through cuddles and his fondness for naps made him remarkable, and this mayor -- Stubbs the cat -- also proved that opposable thumbs aren't necessary for success in politics.
The honorary mayor of the small Alaska town, elected as a write-in in 1997 due to a paucity of viable human candidates, died at age 20, according to a Saturday news release from his owners.
Stubbs served Talkeetna for 20 years. His office, at Nagley's Store, became a destination for locals and tourists alike who sought sage council from the cat. {Click HERE to read more}
