I have such a large archive of writing on our website and sometimes I like to go back and see what I was writing about around this time during year's past. And guess what? Turns out, rereading these posts brought back some really GREAT memories for me. I hope you enjoy them too!

As all of you know...Handmade items are gestures of love. The time, expense, & skill that go into making them are impossible to quantify.
But when a maker dies in the middle of a project, this tangible, handmade expression of love could get lost, donated away, or even thrown out. But... what if it could be finished as intended and then given back to be cherished.

We finally managed to get a bolt of Cleo fabric in yellow. It's the perfect coordinate to the other "Cleo" fabrics we carry. You might remember that we used it in a recent sample (at right) for our Easy Go Wallet pattern and many of you indicated some interest.

Robbie Robertson, the chief composer and lead guitarist for the Band, one of my all-time favorite bands, having literally worn the vinyl tracks off their "Music from Big Pink" album. He was 80.
The songs that Mr. Robertson, a Canadian, wrote for the Band used enigmatic lyrics to evoke a hard and colorful America of yore, a feat coming from someone not born in the United States. With uncommon conviction, they conjured a wild place, often centered in the South, peopled by rough-hewed characters.
