1 John 2:2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
A PERFECT FIT
The description on Amazon says: "one-size-fits-all," but when I read that, I usually take it to mean that whatever it is will not really fit anyone well. The cap may fall down around one person's ears, but will pinch my head. The fingers on the glove will likely not be nearly long enough. Each of us is different. One size doesn't fit all.
Some would argue that the same principle applies to spiritual matters. Each person is different, so the religion that works for one may not be a good fit for another. What you believe is fine for you, but don't try to impose it on me. It makes logical sense, but it is not good theology.
While God has made each of us wonderfully one-of-a-kind in personality, talents, and other attributes, we all have a common spiritual heritage. "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned" (Romans 5:12). We share a sinful nature and deserve the eternal death of hell along with every other person on the planet.
But we also have something else in common with all mankind. We have a Savior. God so loved the world that He sent His Son to live the holy life we cannot and to pay the penalty we deserve. "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:21).
So no matter who you are or what problems, needs, or guilt you're dealing with, Jesus is the perfect "fit" for you. Look to Him for forgiveness and peace, and then trust Him to provide the answers and help for all the other unique aspects of your life.
But don't stop with that. Since Jesus is the Savior of all, share Him with others. He is just the One they need too!
