Next Monday, 9 February, is the monthly meeting of the DI Group. As usual the meeting will start at 7.30pm at the clubrooms and all members are welcome. Please bring along any images you may have to show the assembled masses, either prints or projected images (jpegs on USB memory sticks only please).
Last month Barry set Ashwin a challenge to produce a creative image, so this Monday Ashwin will be bringing along the results of his creative labours for Barry to comment on. Hopefully Barry will be able to pass on a few tips & tricks. Perhaps one or two others in the group may also have taken up the challenge. Anyone wishing to raise questions on aspects of digital imaging is also welcome. |

By now, many of you will have seen the architectural drawings on the clubroom wall, showing the proposed works to be carried out at the new premises. These drawings have now been submitted to the local authority for Building Regulations approval and have also been sent out to contactors for pricing. It is hoped that we can exchange and complete on the purchase by the end of February with the builders starting work immediately after. It is anticipated that the building works will take about 6 weeks, so we could well be on the move by the end of April. |
Would all members please note that bookings must be made for the clubrooms or studio any time you want to use them. Bookings should be made through Nick Ball, either by telephone on 01275 373555 or email studio@bristolphoto.org.uk |
Bristol Salon Judging Weekend
|
Having received all the entries for this year's Salon we are now getting ready for the judging weekend which will be from Friday 13 to Tuesday 17 February. This year we have in excess of 12,000 images from just over 1200 entrants representing 69 different countries, so it's going to be a busy few days. If you have a few hours free over the weekend, do feel free to come along and see how an international exhibition works.
We do also have an unusual request to make. Does anybody have a Baby Belling (other makes are available) cooker that we could borrow for the duration so that the catering team can reheat/keep warm in the oven some of the food required to feed the troops. If you can help, please either email me at chairman@bristolsalon.co.uk or collar me at next Wednesday's meeting.
